Stage-wise PhD Programme details: - (PhD IN INDIA )

Intake Process:-
*Test on General Research Aptitude and Subject Competency after submitting the Entrance Examination Fees.
*Personal Interview after qualifying the entrance examination.
Registration:-
*After qualifying the entrance test, documents verification and Eligibility process is completed.

  • Submission of 1st yr Course fees after documents verification.
  • Course Work (PhD IN INDIA)-
    One Semester Course work including 90 Hours of Mandatory Contact Hours (Minimum 75% Attendance Compulsory)
    *All PhD scholars have to appear in the course work Examination and have to secure more than 60% marks failing which the course work will be repeated in the next semester.
  • RDC OR DRC (RESEARCH DEGREE COMMITTEE)..
  • After successful completion of Course work, Guide is allotted to students.
    *Candidate has to appear for Presentation of Topic and Research Proposal within 12-24 weeks after course work result mandatory otherwise penalty may be imposed by the concerned university which shall be 5000 to 10000 (As per decision of concerned University/Institute)
  • RDC presentation will be held in the supervision of External Examiner (Subject Expert.
  • Modification of the topic if any is to be submitted within 8 weeks of the date of RDC, otherwise candidate have to reappear in RDC by depositing the penalty upto 10000/-.
  • Evaluation of Modification of the topic will be held and the letter of RDC with the final topic will be sent to the candidate as well as to the Supervisor.
  • Semester Wise Progress Report I-II
  • After topoc approval from RDC, the candidate has to present his work within 12-24 weeks of the date of finalization of the topic. This presentation will be internal and will be held in front of the University subject expert and Superviso
  • Semester-wise Progress Report—III-IV
    *After Completion of Research work, the candidate has to present his/her work in front of External Examiner (Subject Expert) and has to explain his working. Pre-Thesis Submission :-
    *This pre-thesis presentation must be held in between 36-48 weeks of finalization of the topic.
    *Candidate has to submit his/her the complete thesis in Examination Cell with Plagiarism Report in spiral binding ( 2 Hard Copies ) and 2 CDs/DVDs (soft copies)
    *Research Advisory Committee will also check the Plagiarism before sending it to evaluators.
  • After getting an evaluation of thesis and correction/modifications if any, the final date of VIVA will be notified to the candidate as well as one of the Thesis evaluator as External Examiner.
  • FINAL VIVA
  • Candidate has to submit his/her Thesis in spiral binding Hardbound (6 Copies ) to Examination Cell on before the date of the Final VIVA.
PhD Admission Categories & Requirements:- (PhD )

Category of the PhD Students:- Applications for admission to the PhD Program shall be classified under any one of the following categories which will be decided and recommended by DRC/RDC.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR PhD Admission :-

COMMON MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY Ph.D. Admission Categories & Requirements Category of the Ph.D. Students:
Applicants for admission to the Ph.D. programme shall be classified under any one of the following categories which will be decided and recommended by DRC/CRC.

  • Full-time Research Scholar
  • Part-time Research Scholar
  • a. In-Service Internal Research Scholar
  • a. In-Service Internal Research Scholar

COMMON MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR Ph.D. ADMISSION:
An Applicant belonging to the Category mentioned should possess the following minimum qualifications to be eligible for admission in PhD
1. Master’s degree with minimum cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 6.0 on a 10 point scale, or 60% marks for the General, GEN-EWS AND OBC CATEGORY.
FOR SC/ST or PWD candidates, the minimum CGPA requirements may be relaxed to 5.50 on a 10 point scale or to 55% marks.
Post-Graduate Degree in Basic Science or in Professional Course selected through a process described any one of the following :-
*Scholars who are selected through National Eligibility Tests—UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) and GATE
*The selection process through National Level Examinations conducted by MHRD and its agencies and institutes such as UGC/IIT/IISER etc.
For Candidates other than Centrally Funded Institutes (CFIs), B.Tech/B.Arch/B Pharmacy Degree or equivalent with a GATE/GPAT/NET score (marks) and a minimum CGPA of 7.50 on a 10 point scale or 75% marks irrespective of the category.
*Scholars who are selected through National Eligibility Test.

  • 2. For Graduates from CFTIs, the minimum CGPA requirement is relaxed to 7.0 on a 10 Point Scale or 70% Marks.
  • 3. CGPA or percentage of marks in aggregate, in case marks are awarded, of all years/semesters will be considered. If the CGPA is awarded on a scale other than 10 Point scale, proportionate concession to a 10 Point Scale will be considered.
  • 4. The requirement of GATE/GPAT/JRF/NET Score is not applicable to candidates in ISERS or P-ISERS OR P-ISERS CATEGORY.
  • 5. Bachelors or Masters from IITs with a CGPA 8.0 and above on 10 Point scale are exempted from the requirement of GATE/GPAT/JRF/NET.
  • 6. Candidates pursing Master’s programs in Engineering or Architecture/Planning in any of the University and have CGPA 8.50 and above, shall have a choice of lateral entry to the PhD program after completing first two semesters of the Master’s program.
  • 7. Candidates with MBBS/BDS degree from an Indian University/Institution shall have minimum CGPA of 6.0 on a 10 point scale, or 60% in the qualifying degree, irrespective of the category. They are exempted from the GATE/GPAT/JRF/NET requirement.
  • 8. Candidates with Master of Surgery (MS)/Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from a Indian University/Institute are exempted from the minimum CGPA as well as the GATE/GPAT/JRF/NET requirement.
  • 9. Candidates with a medicine degree from an overseas University/Institute should have qualified the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination conducted by the National Board of Examination.
  • 10.Candidates with Overseas Citizen of India (OCI)/Person of Indian Origin (PIO) status will be treated at par with Indian Nationals in the General Category.

NOTE :(1) Candidates under OBC-NC and Economically weaker sections category must submit a copy of valid certificate, issued after 31st march,2021 as per GOI issued by a competent authority. Reservation shall be applicable as per the GOI norms.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION TO IN-SERVICE EXTERNAL RESEARCH SCHOLAR AND PART-TIME SCHOLARS (PhD Education)
  • At the time of registration, the candidate should have at least two years experience in a Government/Semi-Government organization/Public Sector undertaking/AICTE/UGC recognized educational Institute or a registered company with an annual turnover of more than Rs. Twenty Crores. They should have permission from the employer for pursuing the PhD program with adequate level of authority to complete the course work requirements. This requirement of level of authority is waived off for the candidates working within 100 km of the institute. Candidate in P-ISIRS category should, in addition, be regular employees of the institute.
  • Note: - The eligibility conditions given above are the absolute minimum. Departments/colleges may prescribe any requirements over and above these. Reservation is applicable as per entrant policies of the Government of India and prescribed by the Board of Governors.

Students can apply directly through online mode on the official website of concerned University. Candidates must follow the following steps while applying online Application Form:

  • Find the Notification Page.
  • Click on the apply online tab and fill all the required details in the columns given.
  • Upload the Photo and documents required.
  • Recheck all the details filled in the application form and submit form
  • Proceed to pay the Entrance Test Fees. .
